As the Laser Production Engineer, you will demonstrate excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams You will be supporting the production and repair of a wide range of our client’s laser systems, including continuous wave optical parametric oscillator (CW- OPO) products.

Key job responsibilities:

• Assemble, align, and test a variety of breakthrough laser systems for on-time completion
• Record and maintain data to verify the performance and quality of these laser systems
• Follow documented manufacturing processes and procedures
• Identify technical problems during manufacturing, and contribute to solutions to these problems
• Design, set up, and calibrate lab equipment and test fixtures
• Perform quality control testing on incoming components to verify performance to specification
• Repair or rework existing laser systems that do not meet customer requirements and specifications
• Provide Quality Assurance inspection and signoff for laser systems
• Create and update assembly procedures, and train assembly technicians and production engineers on these procedures
• Periodic travel to client’s headquarters in Western Europe for training, and possible travel to customer sites for product installations

Qualifications and Competencies requirements:

• Minimum BS degree in Physics, Optics/Photonics, or a related scientific discipline is a must
• Prior experience and skill in hands-on work with CW and/or ultrafast lasers and optical techniques
• Experience and familiarity with optics or related technical manufacturing and process support
• Detail-oriented with a high standard of quality
• Able to work independently and as a team
• The ideal candidate will be a driven, motivated, self-starter
