Our client’s multimillion-dollar product line enhances the capabilities of OEMs and technology-driven companies by integrating their advanced tools into their own processing systems.
POSITION SUMMARY:
RA’s client is seeking a dynamic, customer-focused professional with a strong technical background in industrial lasers and materials processing applications. This individual will play a dual role in key account management and sales / business development, leveraging their expertise to foster strong new customer relationships, enhance existing relationships and drive regional growth.
The ideal candidate thrives in a hands-on “hunter” driven sales environment, offering new and existing customers applications solutions while cultivating new sales opportunities. Based in our client’s Santa Clara office 3 days/wk, the Sales Manager will report directly to the Dir of Sales for North America. This role requires a blend of technical acumen, strong sales experience / accomplishment, and the ability to deliver innovative, customized solutions to our customers.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Key Account Management: Build and nurture relationships with key accounts, ensuring customer satisfaction and continuing / enhancing long-term partnerships.
- Business Development / Sales: Identify and develop new opportunities by understanding and addressing customer needs and market trends.
- Technical Expertise: Developing customized solutions for both new and existing customers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align on customer requirements and deliver optimal solutions.
- Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and customer sites to showcase product capabilities.
- Contribute to marketing initiatives, including technical articles, white papers, and newsletters.
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and technological advancements to maintain a competitive edge.
- Address customer challenges with prompt and effective solutions, teaming with sales and engineering to exceed customer expectations.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical discipline such as Physics, Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in sales, applications engineering or customer-facing roles in industrial laser/materials processing.
- Proven experience managing and growing sales of complex technical products.
- Strong track record in selling to OEMs and technology companies.
- Knowledge and expertise in industrial laser applications, including cutting, welding, and process monitoring.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Ability to travel in Western Region approx 30%, plus additional travel to HQ in W. Europe, and travel to trade shows / conferences.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- Deep understanding of several of the following: optics, photonics, industrial lasers, beam delivery components, and materials processing technologies.
- Strategic mindset for cultivating key accounts and identifying new business opportunities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, customer-driven environment.
- Prior experience with product demonstrations, troubleshooting laser applications a plus
- Prior experience selling industrial laser / photonic products to: automotive, e-mobility / battery processing, consumer electronics a strong plus
- German, or Mandarin Chinese language / cultural skills and experience a plus
